Topps NCAA March Madness Basketball Card Series Unveiled

Topps, the renowned trading card company, has teamed up with the NCAA to introduce an exclusive March Madness basketball card series that will surely excite sports memorabilia enthusiasts. Priced at $139.99 per pack, this limited edition series features packs containing eight cards each, with a guaranteed autograph card from a selection of standout players gracing the college basketball scene.

Among the featured athletes are Zach Edey from Purdue, the men’s Player of the Year, and Caitlin Clark, the women’s Player of the Year. Each pack promises an autographed card, six base cards, and one parallel card numbered to 99 or fewer. These specially curated packs are available for purchase on Topps’ official website until Thursday, with the added excitement of dual autograph cards appearing in one out of every ten packs.

The collection showcases a select group of 20 influential college basketball players who have given their consent to be included in the Bowman U NOW March Madness series. The roster comprises notable talents from both the men’s and women’s divisions, including Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, Caitlin Clark from Iowa, Cameron Brink from Stanford, and many more.

Dual autographs are a fascinating aspect of this series, with pairings like Clark/Edey, Clark/Reese, Reese/Van Lith, and Sheppard/Dillingham adding an extra layer of excitement for collectors. However, the availability of cards featuring Caitlin Clark will conclude on April 1, as she is set to enter an exclusive trading card agreement with Panini America. This limited-time collaboration between Topps and the NCAA enables the integration of the iconic March Madness logo and branding into the card series, hinting at future joint ventures in the realm of sports memorabilia.

Over the course of the season, Topps has released more than 120 Bowman U cards through the Topps NOW platform, with a significant focus on showcasing college basketball talents. Caitlin Clark, in particular, has been prominently featured on 13 different cards, surpassing all other college athletes in terms of appearances. The inclusion of college players in the traditional Topps Bowman University line for the past two years has added vibrancy and depth to the collector’s experience, further enhancing the allure of college sports within the trading card community.

The collaboration between Topps and the NCAA for the March Madness basketball card series not only celebrates the talent and excitement of collegiate basketball but also offers collectors a unique opportunity to own pieces of memorabilia featuring some of the most promising players in the sport. With limited-time offerings and exclusive autograph cards, this series is set to captivate both basketball fans and trading card enthusiasts alike, making it a must-have addition to any sports memorabilia collection.
